Two Hours, Forty-Six Minutes (and several seconds)

A slight change of format this month, instead of words* we have a series of photographs.

On the last sunday in March 2008, I decided that I really needed to be up early and on a Northumberland beach for the sunrise. This firm resolution only wavered slightly when I realised that I'd picked the weekend when the clocks jumped forward for British Summertime, and so an hour's sleep was lost. Oh well, sleep is for dormice as they say.

The following nine images are in chronological order, starting with the first photograph, shot before sunrise, to the last, created as rain started to fall and a strong wind picked up. It was at that point that I decided that what I really needed was a cup of coffee and so I packed up for the day.

The interesting thing to note is how many of the images are vertical as opposed to horizontal. I guess I must have had my upright head on that day. Or perhaps the lack of sleep gave me a slightly skewed view of the world...

* Er...Except these of course.
