David Taylor is a landscape and travel photographer based in Hexham, Northumberland. David has worked all over the British Isles, from Cornwall to the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. He is particularly passionate about photographing the landscape of his home county of Northumberland. Away from the shores of Britain, David’s travel photography has taken him from sun-kissed beaches in the Indian Ocean to the bright chill of Sweden in winter.

Focus on...May

A few weeks ago I was cursing a snow-storm as it swept across the Cheviot valley I was standing in (see picture of the month for the results). This week I foolishly managed to get sunburnt after a day spent just a few miles south of the location above. I think it’s safe to say that winter has gone and summer is finally here (though of course I should heed the saying, “Nay cast a clout ‘til May be out” – the British weather may have a few surprises in store yet.)

Whether the weather is good, bad or indifferent, I still have a busy month ahead of me. At the end of May the St. Cuthbert’s Way travelling exhibition moves onto Mellerstain House in the Scottish Borders, and I also open the week-long 'Moments in Time' exhibition at the Hexham Moot Hall in Northumberland. I’ll be in attendance at the Moot Hall for the entire week so please do drop in for a chat. If nothing else it will be a chance to get out of the rain or shelter from a scorching sun (delete as applicable).
