The Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 and 40-150mm f/4 lenses

Like most photographers, I do like a good lens. In fact, I like two good lenses: my Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 and Olympus 40-150mm f/4 lenses. If I were only allowed to keep two lenses then it would be these two. Combined they offer a focal range of 24mm to 300mm in full-frame terms. And they’re both relatively small and lightweight too, which happily far lighter too. What’s not to like?

In this video I discuss what I like about these lenses, and the (very small and nit-picky) number of things that I’m not so keen on. I also explore the southern end of Allen Banks in Northumberland, a wonderful stretch of woodland bordering the river Allen. You can see a demonstration of the photographer’s dance; hear my thoughts about the movie ‘Flashdance’; and marvel at my ability to forget to replace a battery in my camera too.
